 "text": "RS 14:87.11\n\n\u00a787.11. Aggravated abortion by dismemberment\n\nA. Aggravated abortion by dismemberment is the commission of an abortion when\nthe unborn child is intentionally dismembered, whether the act of dismemberment was in the\ncourse of or following the death of the unborn child.\n\nB. Repealed by Acts 2022, No. 545, \u00a74.\n\nC. Any person who knowingly performs an abortion in violation of this Section shall\nbe imprisoned at hard labor for not less than one nor more than ten years, fined not less than\nten thousand nor more than one hundred thousand dollars, or both.\n\nD. None of the following shall be construed to create the crime of aggravated\nabortion by dismemberment:\n\n(1) Any action taken when a physician or other licensed medical professional is\nacting in the course of administering lawful medical care and an unborn child dies.\n\n(2) Any act taken or omission by a pregnant woman with regard to her own unborn\nchild.\n\nActs 2012, No. 646, \u00a71; Acts 2022, No. 545, \u00a7\u00a72, 4; Redesignated from R.S.\n14:32.9.1 by Acts 2022, No. 545, \u00a76A."
