 "text": "RS 14:87.1.1\n\n\u00a787.1.1. Killing a child during delivery; penalties\n\nA. Killing a child during delivery is the intentional destruction, during parturition\nof the mother, of the vitality or life of a child in a state of being born and before actual birth,\nwhich child would otherwise have been born alive; provided, however, that the crime of\nkilling a child during delivery shall not be construed to include any case in which the death\nof a child results from the use by a physician of a procedure during delivery which is\nnecessary to save the life of the child or of the mother and is used for the express purpose of\nand with the specific intent of saving the life of the child or of the mother.\n\nB. Whoever commits the crime of killing a child during delivery shall be imprisoned\nat hard labor in the penitentiary for life.\n\nActs 2022, No. 545, \u00a72."
