 "text": "RS 14:86\n\n\u00a786. Enticing persons into prostitution\n\nA. Enticing persons into prostitution is committed when any person over the age of\nseventeen entices, places, persuades, encourages, or causes the entrance of any other person\nunder the age of twenty-one into the practice of prostitution, either by force, threats,\npromises, or by any other device or scheme. Lack of knowledge of the other person's age\nshall not be a defense.\n\nB.(1) Whoever commits the crime of enticing persons into prostitution shall be\nimprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not less than two years nor more than ten years.\n\n(2) Whoever commits the crime of enticing persons into prostitution when the person\nbeing enticed into prostitution is under the age of eighteen years shall be fined not more than\nfifty thousand dollars, imprisoned at hard labor for not less than fifteen years nor more than\nfifty years, or both, with at least five years being served without benefit of probation, parole,\nor suspension of sentence.\n\n(3) Whoever commits the crime of enticing persons into prostitution when the person\nbeing enticed into prostitution is under the age of fourteen years shall be fined not more than\nseventy-five thousand dollars, imprisoned at hard labor for not less than twenty-five years\nnor more than fifty years, or both, with at least ten years being served without benefit of\nprobation, parole, or suspension of sentence.\n\nC.(1) It shall not be a defense to prosecution for a violation of this Section that the\nperson being enticed is actually a law enforcement officer or peace officer acting in his\nofficial capacity.\n\n(2) It shall not be a defense to prosecution for a violation of this Section that the\nperson being enticed consented to the activity.\n\nAmended by Acts 1978, No. 434, \u00a71; Acts 2010, No. 763, \u00a71; Acts 2012, No. 446,\n\u00a71; Acts 2013, No. 83, \u00a71; Acts 2014, No. 564, \u00a71; Acts 2017, No. 180, \u00a71, eff.
