   "text": "(2) Upon a second or subsequent conviction or violation of the provisions of this Section, the offender shall be imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not less than one year nor more than ten years and may, in addition, be fined not more than twenty thousand dollars.",

 "text": "RS 14:67.7\n\n\u00a767.7. Theft or unauthorized reproduction of a mail receptacle key or lock\n\nA. As used in this Section, the following terms shall have the following meanings:\n\n(1) \"Mail\" means any letter, postal card, parcel, envelope, package, bag, or any other\nsealed article addressed to another, along with its contents.\n\n(2) \"Postal service\" means the United States Postal Service or its contractors, or any\ncommercial courier that delivers mail.\n\nB. Any of the following acts shall constitute theft or unauthorized reproduction of\na mail receptacle key or lock:\n\n(1) Stealing or obtaining by false pretense any key or lock adopted by a postal service\nfor any box or other authorized receptacle for the deposit or delivery of mail.\n\n(2) Knowingly and unlawfully making, forging, or counterfeiting any such key, or\npossessing any such key or lock adopted by a postal service that delivers mail with the intent\nto unlawfully or improperly use, sell, or otherwise dispose of the key or lock, or to cause the\nkey or lock to be unlawfully or improperly used, sold, or otherwise disposed.\n\nC.(1) Whoever violates the provisions of this Section shall be imprisoned, with or\nwithout hard labor, for not more than five years or fined not more than five thousand dollars,\nor both.\n\n(2) Upon a second or subsequent conviction or violation of the provisions of this\nSection, the offender shall be imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not less than one\nyear nor more than ten years and may, in addition, be fined not more than twenty thousand\ndollars.\n\nD. In addition to the penalties provided in Subsection C of this Section, a person\nconvicted under this Section shall be ordered to make full restitution to the victim and any\nother person who has suffered a financial loss as a result of the offense in accordance with\nCode of Criminal Procedure Article 883.2.\n\nActs 2024, No. 67, \u00a71."
